The Detective Division is supervised by a Sergeant who is responsible for the management of the daily activities of the Division.  There are three Detectives assigned to the division.  These officers are responsible for conducting detailed criminal investigations into both crimes against people and against property.  Juvenile investigations are also coordinated through the Detective Division.  In addition, the officers have received specialized training in crime scene investigation and processing.  They are also certified in Clandestine Lab investigation and are responsible for investigation drug and narcotic complaints within the City.  Each of these officers are active member of the Major Case Squad and receives annual training through that organization.  The Detective Division also have officers who are member of the Missouri Narcotic Officers Association and the Mid-West Gang Investigation Association.  Training is also provided to these officers by those organizations.
